EarthScope Information Technology Forum

The EarthScope IT Forum (ESIT) is a open, loose-knit collaboration to foster the development of an information infrastructure for the EarthScope Project.

The Forum was founded at the EarthScope CSIT Workshop, held in Snowbird, Utah, March 25-28, 2002.

Functions of the Forum include:

• Coordination of current IT development activities
• Support for workshops and working groups
• Standardization of data structures and interfaces
• Development of an EarthScope IT implementation plan

Membership is open to qualified organizations and individuals with interests in the application of information technology to research in the Earth sciences.
