Calendar: Event Details SCEC Workshop on Detection of Anomolous Deformation Signals August 12 - 13, 2008 Kellogg West Conference Center Southern California, like many seismically-active areas, is home to a large number of continuously recording GPS and other geodetic instruments. The steady stream of data provided by these networks requires ongoing monitoring for changes that may signal anomalous behavior. Although research has focused on various aspect identifying transients in geodetic data, a coordinated and comprehensive monitoring system is not in place in southern California. In response to this situation, SCEC is organizing a workshop designed to bring together a small group of experts on this topic as a first step toward fulfilling this need.
