Third SCEC Earthquake Simulators Workshop

June 1, 2009

Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach
Oxnard, CA

This workshop will continue our series of discussions focused on comparing and validating earthquake simulators, namely computer programs that simulate the occurrence of many earthquakes over a long period of time. We will consider how the results of different simulators compare with one another for the very simple problems we have worked on so far and will define new problems to use as tests of the simulators in the future. We will also discuss connections between our efforts and those of others doing somewhat related work and address the possibility of running a workshop sponsored by several agencies that would focus on the importance of this and related work and how it might be supported in the future.
