A: Offset poles, where fault enters Izmit Bay from the east. Poles were offset about 2.2 meters, although there is a broader zone of deformation not shown on this photo (see next photo) (Photo: Tom Rockwell).
B: Ground deformation where fault enters Izmit Bay. Additional right-lateral displacement is accommodated in this zone, in addition to that seen in the previous photo (Photo: Tom Rockwell).
