CITY OF LOS ANGELES TO CONDUCT EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
EARTHQUAKE EXERCISE ON JANUARY 17, 2007

City and Los Angeles Unified School District partnering to better prepare for earthquakes.

WHAT:
On January 17, 2007, at 8:30 a.m., the City of Los Angeles will host a press conference at the Northridge Fashion Center as part of its annual emergency preparedness exercise.

Other Departments available for comment: Los Angeles Departments of Animal Services, Building and Safety, Disability, Street Services, Transportation, and Water and Power.
WHY:
City of Los Angeles conducting annual emergency preparedness exercise which will include the set-up of a Unified Command Post at the Northridge Fashion Center, an all City employee Duck Cover and Hold Drill and a Duck Cover and Hold Drill in all Los Angeles Unified School District schools. This exercise will be held on fourteenth anniversary of the Northridge earthquake. Message: Personal Preparedness; "Be your own First Responder."
