This year, students will have the chance to explore the various exhibits throughout the day. The morning will be marked by a guest speaker. A complimentary lunch is provided to all exhibitors and students including a 6-inch sub from Subway, chips, and a beverage. Condiments will be available on the side. The afternoon involves a groupwide contest for the students! Last year we held a Shake Contest whereby students of similar age group competed against each other to build structures out of hard paper and a limited amount of tape and then tested its durability on a shake table. This event not only allows students to think critically about how buildings stand up to earthquakes in the area, it also builds on group cooperation and individual ingenuity. This year's contest will involve water filtration processes, where students will work together to transform a cup of murky, smelly water into clean, potable water. The day concludes with an event titled Dollars for Answers!
