2003 Annual Meeting: SCEDC Town Hall Meeting
Town-Hall Meeting of Users of the Southern California Earthquake Data Center (SCEDC)
Sunday, September 7th, 7-8:30 pm at the SCEC Annual Meeting in Oxnard, CA

Organizers:
Robert W. Clayton, California Institute of Technology
Vikki L. Appel, California Institute of Technology (SCEDC)

The Southern California Earthquake Data Center (SCEDC) archives and provides public access to earthquake waveform and parametric data gathered by the Southern California Seismic Network. Our mission is to maintain an easily-accessible, well-organized, high-quality, searchable archive of earthquake data for research in seismology and earthquake engineering. The Data Center is a vital resource for seismic research in southern California and is widely used within the SCEC community and external researchers.

This will be a town-hall style meeting to bring together users of the Data Center to identify and discuss areas which are of concern to the user community. We will be soliciting input from the user community to aid in determining priorities to focus on in the future. We are interested in knowing what product are needed to further research goals, and what modifications should be made to current services to increase productivity. The purpose of this meeting is to allow for greater input by the scientific users in establishing and prioritizing Data Center goals and improving feedback methodology.

The meeting is open to all members of the SCEC community. If you have a specific issue you would like to see on the agenda, email Vikki Appel at vikki@gps.caltech.edu.
