Lisa Wald: An overview of available education resources and curricula via the Internet

Lisa Wald is the Outreach and Education Director for the Pasadena USGS Office, where she has been a geophysicist for 13 years. She is also the Webmaster for the Pasadena Office and a member of the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program Web Team. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas in 1984, and her Masters of Science in Geophysics from the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1987. After spending the first part of her career performing database management for the office and doing research on surface waves and site response, she has now turned to Outreach and Education. The focus of her efforts is currently on K-12, particularly elementary school, education through hands-on and inquiry-based teaching and through the Internet, and on public education.

Ms. Wald provided an overview of available education resources and curricula via the Internet, from the USGS and other organizations, focusing on products for K-6 education.
