End-to-End Simulation

End-to-End Simulation

The purpose of this project is to foster interaction between earthquake scientists and earthquake engineers through the collaborative modeling of the whole process involved in earthquake fault rupture, seismic wave propagation, site response, soil-structure interaction, and building response. This project is sponsored by NSF (tall buildings) and CEA (woodframe buildings). The main SCEC discipline and focus groups working on this project are Geology, especially fault models; Unified Structural Representation; Faulting and the Mechanics of Earthquakes; Ground Motion Prediction; and PetaSHA – Terashake and Cybershake.
