About Me Publications
John Fletcher obtained his PhD from the University of Utah in 1994 in Geology and is a faculty member in the Earth Sciences Division of (CICESE) in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. He specializes in faulting and plate tectonics and has studied mountain belts in many parts of the world. Fletcher has been associate editor of two important journals in Earth Sciences (Geology and Geological Society of America Bulletin) and has led several international consortia including the recent effort to study the surface rupture of the Mw 7.2 El Mayor-Cucapah earthquake that struck northern Baja California on April 4, 2010.
