[SZ4D] Join us: US & Chile Exchange Program Participant Panel
Join us on August 29th for a two-part panel and conversation featuring early career scientists who previously participated in the SZNet US & Chile Exchange Program. Come hear what they worked on, what they learned, and how the experience helped shape their careers.
If you are considering applying, we highly encourage you to attend. The panel is a great opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the exchange process and ask your questions before the application deadline on October 1, 2025.
Use the links below to register for one or both panels.
Do you have a question for the panelists? Submit it in advance to have it featured during the conversation.

What is the US & Chile Exchange Program?
This US & Chile Exchange Program connects students and early career scientists (within 3 years of receiving their last degree) based in the US or Chile with host institutions in the partner country that align with their research interests. Through this program, participants receive support from SZNet to conduct a month-long, independent research project at a host institution of their choice. The program is designed to expand opportunities for emerging scientists while fostering international collaboration.

Information for Applicants
This program is intended to support:
1. Applicants without existing research contacts in the partner country. Students and early-career scientists interested in applying can explore the list of interested hosts on our website. Participants should reach out to this prospective host to define a project.
2. Applicants with an existing contact in the partner country. In this case, applicants are welcome to apply to work with that scientist/institution, regardless of whether that scientist has registered as a prospective host. Applicants should work with their host to define a project and fill out the participant application as normal.
To apply, applicants will need to submit the application through the application portal. This form will prompt applicants for a short project description and a letter of collaboration from their chosen host, along with other questions about the applicant’s career goals and background. Applicants can review the application questions here. Learn more on the program webpage.
