The SCEC Research Travel Awards provide financial support to students and early-career researchers to attend and present their work at national conferences. These awards can help cover essential expenses like abstract submission fees, conference registration, and travel costs. With limited funding available, priority will be given to those who demonstrate financial need. The deadline to apply for a Travel Award for SCEC2024 has been extended to August 26. Grant Writing Workshop. NEW!
This workshop will introduce the essentials of NSF Grants, guiding you through the process of transforming your ideas into a compelling narrative that meets the expectations of reviewers. Participants will gain valuable insights into SCEC’s science planning and proposal evaluation process. You’ll learn the fundamentals of proposal writing, acquire essential planning tools, and refine your communication skills to effectively advocate for your research and advance your career. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to meet one-on-one with USC’s Chief Grant Strategist, Heidi Smith Parker, to discuss your proposal at any stage of development. Showcase your work on stage with a poster lightning talk! This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver a concise, 60-second summary of your team’s research to spark the community’s interest in your work.
