Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

Agenda for upcoming SCEC workshop, Oct. 27-28

Date: 10/18/2005

Dear SCEC colleagues,

Attached is the final agenda for the two days of the upcoming SCEC workshop, "Active Deformation of the earth in the northern part of the Los Angeles region: What earth scientists know and need to know". The workshop will be held on the 27th and 28th at Caltech (Salvatori Room in the Seismo Lab on the 27th, Beckman Institute Auditorium on the 28th). If you plan to attend but have not yet registered, please do so at

http://www.scec.org/workshops/AFTFNLAB/

This website contains a description of the workshop. Directions for parking and locating the two Caltech buildings are in the attached agenda.

One of the main charges for the first day of the workshop is to identify and prioritize the main research problems that need to be attacked in the northern L.A. region. For purposes of this workshop, we are focusing on the San Gabriel Mountains, San Gabriel Valley and northern part of the Los Angeles basin as far west as downtown. Hope to see you there.

Cheers,
Gary Fuis, Lucy Jones, Rufus Catchings
