Online registration is now available for the Los Angeles International
Earthquake Conference being held at Downtown L.A.'s Omni Hotel,
November 12 through 14, 2008.

The conference will bring together the world's leading authorities in seismic safety and disaster preparedness and recovery. Exchange ideas and identify best practices with public officials, academics and emergency planners from around the world.

Key goals of the conference include developing policy recommendations for future legislation that will improve preparedness, response and the ability to quickly rebound from major earthquakes. The conference is part of the Great Southern California ShakeOut, which will feature the largest earthquake drill in U.S. history. The Conference will be presented in partnership with the Earthquakes in Megacities Initiative (EMI), an international, not-for-profit, scientific organization that works with several megacities and metropolises in the world to reduce disaster risk.

- The Omni Hotel (Conference Venue) is offering a discounted rate to conference participants ($189 USD per night).
- Book and stay for a minimum of two (2) nights at the Omni Hotel (Conference Venue) and receive a $100 USD credit towards your hotel accommodations upon departure. This is in addition to the discounted rate that is available to conference guests. You must book your room by September 1, 2008 to receive this credit.
- Overnight Parking for conference participants who are staying at the Omni Hotel is included ($30 USD per night value).
