Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

Earthquake Education Workshop -- Deadline Extended

Date: 04/01/2009

Dear Educators,

SCEC and NAGT are partnering to offer a K-12 Educator Workshop at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, CA on strategies for teaching students about earthquakes. The workshop will take place on Sunday, April 19th, from 10 am to 2 pm. This workshop will show how to integrate local earthquake geology and hazards into the classroom and allow for the exploration of standards-based classroom activities for teaching about earthquakes. While it is designed mainly for middle school science teachers, all K-12 and pre-service teachers are welcome.

Please see the attached documents for more information and the form for registration. The deadline for registration has been extended to this Friday, April 3, 2009 (not March 23, as indicated on the flyers).

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Christina Gotuaco
