Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

February 26, 2010: deadline for Transient Detection Exercise Phase II Group C results and release date for Phase III data

Date: 01/29/2010

Hello All,

Happy New Year! We are writing to bring you up to speed on important upcoming events in the SCEC Transient Detection Exercise.

1) In October we released the Phase II Group C data and set a tentative deadline of February 1, 2010 for submission of results. We have decided to extend that deadline to February 26, 2010 to coincide with the release of Phase III data (see next item). The instructions for obtaining Phase IIC data and submitting results may be found in the relevant posts in the "Pages" section of this website.

2) Phase III data will be released February 26, 2010. These data will include greater complexity as discussed in the September 2009 workshop. At the time of release a due-date will be announced for these results.

3) We are planning a workshop for 2010, although the date has not yet been finalized. At this workshop we will discuss the Phase III results, take stock of what we have learned so far, and plan for Phase IV.

If you have any questions, please contact Jessica Murray-Moraleda (jrmurray@usgs.gov) or Rowena Lohman (rbl62@cornell.edu).
