Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

Abstract deadline for IAHS-IAPSO-IASPEI joint assembly is approaching

Date: 02/01/2013

Forwarded announcement from Yehuda Ben-Zion, USC:

We would like to remind you the deadline of the abstract submission to the joint Assembly of IAHS, IAPSO, and IASPEI will be soon at 4th of February 2013. The meeting will be held in Gothenburg (Sweden) between 22 and 26 of July 2013.

Web site : http://iahs-iapso-iaspei2013.com/

We encourage you to submit your abstract to the Symposia S701:

S701  Mathematical problems in seismology

Description: Improvements in the quality and quantity of seismic data,
coupled with theoretical developments in the seismological, physics and other communities, provide fundamental new opportunities for improved understanding of structural properties and dynamic processes in the earth interior. The goal of this session is to discuss promising new results in seismology with significant mathematical components that can advance the knowledge of the earth. In particular, we welcome theoretical and computational contributions on inverse theory, wave propagation in complex environments, sources of seismic radiation, and dynamics of processes in the earth.

Review: All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Convenors. We are looking forward to seeing your submitted contributions and to meeting you at the conference in Gothenburg.

Organiser: IASPEI

Lead Convener: Malcolm Sambridge (Australia)

Co-Conveners: Yehuda Ben-Zion (USA), Klaus Mosegaard (Denmark).
