The Scripps Orbit and Permanent Array Center (SOPAC) and California Spatial Reference Center (CSRC)/California Real Time Network (CRTN), located at the Cecil H. and Ida M. Green Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics (IGPP), Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), La Jolla, CA, seeks individuals to fill two job openings:  Programmer/Analyst and Technician.  
 
SOPAC performs basic and applied research in geodesy, seismology and meteorology in the areas of natural hazards (e.g., earthquakes, tsunamis, extreme weather), tectonic plate motion and plate boundary deformation, with increasing focus on real-time applications such as rapid earthquake response and tsunami prediction.

Programmer/Analyst

• Serve as an object-oriented programmer using web-based technology including Java, JSP/Servlets, JavaScript/AJAX, SQL, CSS, HTML, Apache, Tomcat, Axis, SOAP/REST-based web services, XML/XSLT, JSON, JDBC, and Hibernate;  
• Apply real-time programming skills using C, C++, Java, perl, Python and Unix shell scripts;  
• Develop complex applications for the collection, generation, display and modeling of GNSS analysis products;  
• Manage the relational database;  
• Process GNSS data and data products;  
• Configure, analyze and troubleshoot complex real-time communication processes.
