Quaternary Climate Science

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University invites applications for a Lamont Assistant Research Professor position in Quaternary climate science. The successful candidate will have developed an innovative, externally funded research program in Quaternary climate studies that includes fieldwork and laboratory analysis. Candidates with experience in the application of isotopic tools and cosmogenic surface dating techniques to investigate the expansion and retreat of ice sheets and glaciers are particularly encouraged. Field experience and an understanding of glacial geology will be important qualifications.

Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. in a related field by the time of appointment. Candidates with 2-3 years postdoctoral experience in a related field will be preferred. Interested candidates should provide a CV, list of publications, statement of research interests, list of funded projects and pending proposals, statement of science education and outreach interests if applicable, and the names and addresses of at least three references.
