Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

SCEC Director Search

Date: 08/08/2016

On behalf of Paul Segall, Stanford University:
------------------------------------------------------------

The SCEC Board has asked a committee consisting of: Paul Segall (Chair), Roland Burgmann, Judi Chester, Michele Cooke, and Tom Herring to provide recommendations to USC for the next SCEC Director.  We solicit your input in this process.

The SCEC Director should have the scientific respect of the SCEC community, at least some experience in leading earthquake science programs, and success in the U.S. science-funding environment.  The individual will need to meet the requirements for appointment as full professor at USC.

The SCEC Director will work with SCEC staff at USC, as well as the Planning Committee Chair (Greg Beroza) and Vice-Chair (Judi Chester), as well as the Executive Director for Special Projects (Christine Goulet).

Nominations can be offered to any of the committee members or through the website https://goo.gl/37I2Gg. For those of you that speak with us in person, it would be extremely helpful if you also record your nominations through the website form. We look forward to speaking with you at the SCEC Annual Meeting!
Thanks,

Paul
