Postdoctoral Position in Earthquake Science at the University of Oregon

A two-year postdoctoral position in earthquake hazards is available in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oregon. We seek a motivated scientist and proficient programmer to pursue multiple lines of research broadly aimed at developing a better understanding of earthquake and tsunami hazards in Cascadia and beyond.

The successful candidate will be jointly mentored by Profs. Amanda Thomas, Diego Melgar, and Jake Searcy, have access to state-of-the-art high performance computing infrastructure, expertise and resources available through Oregon’s Data Science Initiative, and be a part of a vibrant group of faculty, postdocs, and graduate students interested in geophysics and seismology (UO Geophysics webpage). The position is open immediately; start dates as late as fall 2019 are possible. Evaluation of applications will begin on July 1, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.
