Save the Dates! SCEC2022 in Palm Springs, September 11-14, 2022

Dear SCEC community,

We return to Palm Springs on September 11-14th for the 2022 SCEC Annual Meeting!

MEETING OBJECTIVES. The SCEC Science Planning Committee has designed the program to showcase advances by SCEC and to strategize for the goals set forth for SCEC5 and beyond. The plenary sessions will consist of invited talks, followed by moderated discussions on each theme that will engage the community in the new efforts and initiatives by SCEC. Attendees will provide input on potential future directions for the Center. The community is invited to share their results and activities through poster presentations.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS. SCEC2022 will be the first in-person annual meeting in three years. The meeting will consist mainly of in-person activities, with supplemental online features offered through the SCEC annual meeting platform to further facilitate connections and discussions between participants. During this meeting, we are also taking precautions to suppress the spread of COVID, including requiring masks in the plenary and poster rooms, working with the venue to improve ventilation, and ensuring ample time each day for people to circulate and connect in outdoor spaces.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE! We are working hard to bring all the elements together for a very special 2022 SCEC Annual Meeting. The SCEC2022 website, including program topics and agenda, registration, travel, and abstract submission, will be available very soon. Registration and abstract submission will only be open from July 15 to August 16. No participants can be added after August 16th. So please note these dates and we’ll see you September 11-14 in Palm Springs!
