Project Abstract
We expect to obtain an average strike-slip rate for the Claremont Fault in the San Jacinto Valley area based on at least 5 offset streams, as well as a vertical separation rate based on uplifted terraces. These offsets were identified during 2007 and we anticipate that more are present in the area. The paleoseismic site is expected to yield a late Holocene record of surface faulting. In addition, there is a good probability that a determination of slip-per-event can be made due to the favorable tectonic geomorphology of the site.
