Intellectual Merit We examine exhumed rocks directly associated with seismogenic faults, and provide insights into the nature of mechanisms, fluid-rock processes, and alteration as a function of fault slip. We are well on our way to developing excellent data sets on the nature of strike slip deformation at a range of depths and conditions.
Broader Impacts We sponsor two gradaute students with this effort, and will support two SCEC interns in the summer of 2011. Both intern nominees are women; one of the grad students is a woman.
