Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

Vivian is a rising senior at the University of Texas at El Paso, she plans to graduate May 2021 with a geology degree. Interests include planetary science, seismology, climate change, and economic geology. Vivian conducts research with NASA/Jacobs Engineering since January 2020, where they use the software Catalite to catalog photography taken by astronauts. She is also a summer intern for the 2020 SCEC’s Supported Opportunities for Undergraduates and Researchers to Collaborate on Earthquake Science (SOURCES) at the Southern California Earthquake Center.
She plans to attend graduate school and eventually obtain a doctorate in the field of geology. She wishes to work with a company but eventually join the academic field and conduct her own research.
