Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

About Me Publications
As part of the 2019 UseIT program I was part of the HaRVi (Hazards and Risk Visualization) Team. Through researching historical earthquakes and analyzing physics-based model simulations we were able to assess the risks and economic losses of events greater than 7.0 magnitude.

Born and raised in San Jose, California, upon completion of high school, I joined the Navy in which I would fulfill five enlistments for a total of twenty years. Retiring in 2016, as a SONAR operations supervisor my experience includes education and training, resource management and staff development as Master Training Specialist. As a seasoned upper-management professional able to establish vision, strategy, and execution of short and long-term objectives in complex and dynamic environments I overcame many difficult and challenging situations pertaining to national security. Working in a multitude of places provided me with multicultural sensitivity and through my international work experience I was able to use my bilingual skills (Spanish).

Competencies include the following:
► Tactical planning and operations ► Tactical Use of Oceanographic Employment ► Cross-functional team building and leadership ► New program development and execution ► Curriculum development, implementation, testing, and evaluation ► Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator ► Geographic Information Systems (GIS): ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online ► Research Surveyor & Assistant
