Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

About Me Publications
Leslie Ramos is completing her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Building Science at the University of Southern California. She will be graduating in the Spring of 2024 with her B.S. in Civil Engineering. She plans to pursue her Master’s degree in Civil Engineering as she would like to work in the industry in the future.

Leslie is a 2021 SOURCES intern at the Southern California Earthquake Center and is working under the mentorship of Dr. Kenawy of the University of Nevada, Reno on modeling damage to reinforced concrete columns in regions of high seismic hazard. Although numerical developments have been completed, there is still uncertainty with calibrating the parameters of concrete and steel material models leading to significant impacts on the predictive capability of current numerical models.

In her free time, Leslie enjoys going on walks, listening to music, painting, and being in the company of her family and friends.
