Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

About Me Publications
Sebastian Silva is a student at the University of Southern California. He's majoring in GeoDesign at the Spatial Sciences Institute and is minoring in Architecture via the School of Architecture. As a student intern within the SOURCES 2022 Cohort, Sebastian is contributing to the Earthquake Hazards StoryMap project. The project allows for a more accessible and intuitive way to communicate safety measures and more to the public. He is interested in the intersection between geographic context, safety, and community input to directly inform design interventions in urban planning. He is interested in potentially pursuing graduate school in either emergency management, urban planning, or architecture.
