Sarah Sengpiehl will be entering into her senior year at California State University, Northridge starting Fall 2021.Sarah obtained her associates degree in the Geological Sciences from Moorpark College, then transferred into CSUN. In the summer of 2022, Sarah anticipates receiving her B.S. in geology. To further her expand her knowledge of the field of geology, Sarah plans to continue her studies by gaining a masters degree in Petrology and Geochronology.

Sarah was a SOURCE intern in the summer of 2021 under the mentorship of Dr. Elena Miranda and Dr. Joshua Schwartz at California State University, Northridge. During her internship, Sarah worked on the geochronology of the Cucamonga area by dating the titanite contained within the rocks. By gathering the ages of the titanite, more can be inferred on the pre-existing structures of faults, and their correlation to flat slab subduction within the Cucamonga area of the Southern California Batholith.
