About Me Publications
Robert C. Viesca is an Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Tufts University. His research interests center on the fundamental mechanics of natural processes and those at the interface of infrastructure and the environment, whether near the Earth’s surface or at depth. Prof. Viesca received a B.S., Civil Engineering, from Tufts University (2005), and a Ph.D., Engineering Science, from Harvard University (2011) under the supervision of Prof. James R. Rice. He then pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at Dalhousie University, Canada (2011–2012), with Prof. Dmitry I. Garagash, before re-joining Tufts University in 2012.
