The purpose of the workshop is to:

  1. Provide an opportunity for the community working on earthquake simulators (i.e. earthquake simulation codes that produce a series of earthquakes) to discuss the details of their approaches and methods in order to learn from one another and to discuss simulation problems and potential solutions,
  2. Devise ways that the simulators may be evaluated and compared, and
  3. Plan the next steps in developing and evaluating simulators.
