Travel and Venue Information
COVID INFORMATION
In 2022, we observed strict COVID protocols, requiring masking in all indoor public spaces (plenary sessions and poster sessions) and providing additional ventilation at the venue. The reported infection rate for that meeting was very low at 0.75%.
For SCEC2023, it is still strongly recommended that people continue to wear masks that fit and filter well in all indoor public places. High-efficacy masks (N95, KN95 or KF94) will be preferred in plenary and poster sessions.
Attendees should be free from recent close exposure to COVID-19, and free from COVID-19 symptoms. Participants should be prepared to “mask when asked” to keep our community safe and comfortable. Up-to-date travel guidance is available from the CDC. If official guidance changes due to increased community spread or new variants, masking may become required.

MEETING VENUE
The SCEC Annual Meeting will be held at the Hilton Palm Springs Resort in Palm Springs, CA.
FLIGHTS AND GROUND TRANSPORT
Participants are recommended to fly directly into Palm Springs Airport (PSP), which is 2 miles from the meeting venue. The Hilton Palm Springs Resort offers a free shuttle service to/from the airport. Participants are asked to call the Hilton front desk (1-760-320-6868) to schedule a ride.
LODGING
A block of rooms at the Hilton Palm Springs Resort is reserved for the SCEC Annual Meeting at the federal per diem rate of $126 per night. An additional resort fee and local taxes will apply, and the hotel will charge the first night’s deposit at check-in. Participants are responsible for any hotel no-show or early departure penalties, so make your reservation carefully. There are also many other hotels within walking distance of the meeting venue. Use the Hilton address (400 E. Tahquitz Canyon) in your favorite travel booking site to locate one nearby.
