Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

SCEC Publications Database reminder

Date: 03/06/2006

Attention all SCEC Scientists:

Have you submitted your SCEC publications to the SCEC Publications Database?

In order to be included in the database, please remember to request a "SCEC
Contribution Number" for the acknowledgment section of any papers you submit
for publication which are based on SCEC-funded research. Please also do
this retroactively for any SCEC papers you may have published without
receiving a SCEC contribution number, so that our database of SCEC-funded
research is complete.

To do this, sign in at http://www.scec.org/signin/ and follow the link under
the heading "SCEC Publications Database". You will see a list of your SCEC
publications, and have the option of submitting a new publication, updating
any previously submitted publications that have since been published, or
searching the entire database for other SCEC publications of interest.

Completing the online form to request a SCEC Contribution Number is simple
and should take less than five minutes. Just enter the title, author list,
journal name, etc., as well as the text of your paper's abstract (cut and
paste it into the field).

You will then be e-mailed the required text for your acknowledgements
section, along with the SCEC Contribution Number for your paper. This may
take 2-3 days, but generally occurs the same day (during normal business
hours).

If you experience problems or have any questions about the process, please
send me an e-mail at scecinfo@usc.edu.

Thank you,

John Marquis
