Minimum education required: Masters of Science degree is the minimum educational requirement.

Minimum work experience required: Minimum of 2 years work experience.

Special skills required: A Physical scientist with background in geotechnical or earth sciences with particular emphasis on seismology or geology. Must have strong mathematical skills and knowledge of numerical analysis using various software packages – MATLAB a must, understanding of statistics very helpful. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Description of duties & responsibilities: Support senior scientist and senior engineering staff with geotechnical research in earthquake science and engineering. Operational activities also include earthquake-modeling development of stochastic data sets for the Monte Carlo simulation. Research activities also include collection and analysis of geological data for use in soils modeling of local site effects.
