Postdoctoral position at Georgia Tech

A postdoctoral research position is available in active tectonics, geomorphology, and/or cosmogenic nuclide geochronology in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Potential research areas include, but are not limited to, the following: constancy of seismic strain accumulation and release rates along major plate boundaries and the evolution of plate boundary fault systems, tectonic controls on erosion rates and drainage basin evolution, rates and styles of knickpoint evolution in bedrock channels, and rates and processes of alluvial landform evolution. Candidates will be encouraged to develop independent projects and collaborations both with scientists at Georgia Tech and elsewhere. Applicants with previous research experience in tectonics, structural geology, geomorphology, geodesy, geochronology, and related fields are particularly encouraged to apply.

Excellent resources are available within the School and throughout the Institute, including a new cosmogenic nuclide geochronology target preparation laboratory. The position is initially available for one year with the possibility of extension for one additional year.
