Postdoctoral research position: Structural Geology/ Geomechanics or Geochemistry
Utah State University, Logan, UT

A 2 or 3-year postdoctoral research position is available to examine the rock mechanics and geological constraints on the seal capacity of rocks. This work is funded by US DOE to examine the controls on sealing capacity in rocks that are seals for proposed CO2 sequestration projects. Candidates should have research experience in structural geology, geomechanics, or geochemistry that can be applied to research projects include field and laboratory investigation of fracture in fine-grained clastics or carbonates. Some of the work may also involve drilling and analyses of fractured volcanic rocks of the Snake River Plain.
