Job ID: 11396

The School of Earth and Space Exploration (SESE) at Arizona State University invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar in Remote Sensing of Large Scale Water Mass Budget Variations.

Applications are invited for one postdoctoral position to work in collaboration with Manoochehr Shirzaei and Susanna Werth on the monitoring large scale water mass budget variations using a combination of InSAR, GPS and GRACE data sets. This research requires

•   Multitemporal interferometric processing of large SAR data sets and integration with GPS data.

•   Analyzing satellite gravity data (GRACE,...).

•   Inverse modeling of total water storage variations.

More information about the department can be found here:

The initial appointment is for one year with subsequent annual renewal for up to two additional years contingent upon satisfactory performance, the needs of the university, and availability of resources. The start date is negotiable. This position comes with a competitive salary, funding for travel, and full health insurance coverage. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in geophysics, hydrology, or closely related field by the start date, and a background in radar remote sensing and/or geophysical numerical modeling. Desired qualifications include a background in both radar remote sensing and geophysical numerical modeling, and familiarity with hydrological processes.

To apply, please submit a single PDF document to shirzaei@asu.edu incorporating the following: * A cover letter

* Contact information for two references
* A curriculum vitae with a publication list
* A statement of past research accomplishments and future research goals (three pages or less)
