National Earthquake Conference - Call for Presentations

Dear SCEC Community,

The National Earthquake Conference (NEC) Executive Planning Committee is seeking dynamic presentation submissions for the 2016 NEC: “What’s New? What’s Next? What’s Your Role in Building a National Strategy?” The conference is scheduled for May 4 – 6, 2016 at the Hilton Long Beach, CA
The Conference will bring together earth scientists, engineers, emergency managers, first responders, policymakers, practitioners, and subject matter experts to discuss new science, new theories and new best practices since the 2012 NEC.
Submit your presentation ideas for what’s new and what’s next, and identify opportunities to engage in building a national strategy in the following areas:
- Earthquake Science, Engineering, and Emergency Management
- How to Address Cascading Dependencies  
- Initiatives to Advance Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, Recovery and Whole Community Integration
- Policies that Support Building Resilient Communities
- Risk Communication
To submit proposals for plenary or break-out sessions, please download the form and transmit via email to Barbara Harrison no later than Friday, January 29, 2016.
