Postdoctoral Position in Seismology at the University of Oregon

A two-year postdoctoral position in seismology is available in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oregon. Potential research areas include novel applications of ambient noise seismology, machine learning applied to earthquake source processes, and small earthquake science. Specific goals for the first year of will be designed based on the mutual interests of the postdoc and mentor (Amanda Thomas).

The successful candidate will have access to a pool of 80 5Hz 3C FairfieldNodal geophones, high performance computing infrastructure, and a lively group of researchers interested in geophysics and seismology (UO Geophysics webpage). The position is open immediately, but start dates as late as mid 2019 are possible. Evaluation of applications will begin on September 1, 2018.
