Broader Impacts This project will create an important resource for scientists, engineers and city planners by providing a high resolution, accurate, georeferenced map of the southern San Andreas Fault. It will contribute to seismic hazard analysis and city planning by providing officials with a dataset that can be used with ArcGIS software to show updated fault locations. The files maps created can also be used to further SCEC’s goal of Communication, Education and Outreach by providing a visual mechanism for the dissemination of fault information. Finally, it will provide funding and hands-on experience for a first-year female graduate student.
