Intellectual Merit This study enables us to quantify the variability of finite earthquake source processes and to produce physics-based rupture scenarios efficiently for ground motion prediction. This is a significant contribution to simulation-based seismic hazard analysis.
Broader Impacts Finite-fault earthquake rupture model generator was developed under this project, which can be used by various groups of ground motion modelers.
