Project Abstract
During this year, we proposed to work on several topics and we have made progress on all of them. We ported/posted codes to public code repositories such as GIT, along with improved documentation, so that colleagues can more readily use and test the codes under development. We are further more developing new forecast methods using Virtual Quake, and are developing systematic tests of earthquake simulators.
Intellectual Merit We have developed new capabilities for simulating and understanding complex earthquake fault systems. We have also laid the groundwork for comprehensive methods to forecast future events.
Broader Impacts The Virtual Quake code is being used by a broad array of students and researchers in over 20 different countries. It has been downloaded from the repository and is in use world wide. The software and extensive documentation allow easy use by a wide community of researchers.
