Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

Meeting Registration

Log in to SCEC to register for the meeting or submit an abstract by the deadline of August 15, 2023 (5:00pm PT)

MEETING REGISTRATION
The 2023 SCEC Annual Meeting will be at the Hilton Palm Springs on September 10-12, 2023. See the meeting program at: https://www.scec.org/meetings/2023/am.

COVID Protocols: The meeting will be in-person only. Before you register, please review the COVID protocols and participant expectations at https://www.scec.org/meetings/2023/am/travel.

Registration Fees: The regular registration fee is $325 if registered and paid for by August 15, 2023. The registration fee gives you access to the plenary sessions, poster sessions, online poster gallery, group meals and other networking opportunities. Registering to attend the meeting is a two-part process: registration and payment. Your registration is provisional until your fee is paid through USC’s secure payment portal. After August 15, late registration fee is $425. Late registrants will not be included in the printed program.

Students and Early Career Researchers: Consult with your supervisor and department before paying any out-of-pocket expenses for meeting or conference participation. There may be funding support available and other payment mechanisms you are not aware of.  If your institution’s resources are exhausted, you may apply for conference fee assistance through SCEC. Assistance is subject to fund availability, with priority given to those with genuine financial need.

CANCELLATION OR CHANGES
If your plans change and you cancel your registration by September 3, you will receive a full refund minus a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations received after September 4, 2023 are not eligible for a refund because SCEC must pay the venue regardless of whether or not you actually attend. If you cannot attend the entire meeting for any reason, we will not be able to prorate your registration fee. To cancel your registration, email scecmeet@usc.edu to notify SCEC you will not be attending the meeting.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
SCEC2023 participants are invited to share recent results and activities relevant to SCEC priorities and initiatives during the poster sessions. Abstract submission is a separate process from meeting registration. There is no abstract submission fee for SCEC2023. To submit a poster abstract for consideration, go to: https://www.scec.org/meetings/2023/am/abstracts. The abstract submission deadline is August 15, 2023 (5:00pm PT). No late submissions will be accepted.
