Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

About Me Publications
I am a senior at Carthage College. Though my school is located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, my hometown is Gladstone, which is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I have a double major in Geography & Earth Science and Management, with a minor in Public Relations. Right now, I am the most interested in pursuing a career in natural disaster management planning so that I am able to combine the skills of my majors and minor. My senior thesis is on earthquake disaster management in Los Angeles, so this internship through SCEC fit perfectly into what I needed more knowledge on. I have never done actual research, so I hope that this internship prepares me for my future and helps me to figure out exactly what I want to do in the future. For after graduation, I am currently looking at graduate schools. I would love to expand my knowledge of geologic studies after graduation. Outside of my education, some things that I enjoy are plants, cats, traveling, journaling, and volunteering.
