Exciting news! We're transitioning to the Statewide California Earthquake Center. Our new website is under construction, but we'll continue using this website for SCEC business in the meantime. We're also archiving the Southern Center site to preserve its rich history. A new and improved platform is coming soon!

About Me Publications
Scott Callaghan is a computer scientist at the Southern California Earthquake Center. He is the lead developer on the CyberShake project, a large-scale high performance computing application which performs physics-based probabilistic hazard analysis for California, producing seismograms and ground motion estimates used by the SCEC and engineering communities. He also works with scientific workflows in high performance and high throughput environments. Additionally, he has an interest in education, outreach, and mentoring to prepare the next generation of high performance computing professionals.

Scott has worked in the high performance computing field for over 10 years. He has been a member of the SCEC community since becoming a UseIT undergraduate intern in 2003. He obtained his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in 2004, and his M.S. in Computer Science (High Performance Computing) from the University of Southern California in 2007.
